KING'S SWIMMERS DROP MEETS TO MESSIAH, ARCADIA IN SEMESTER OPENER

GRANTHAM -- The King's College men's and women's swim teams competed for the first time since November 9, opening the second semester of competition against two of the top programs in the Middle Atlantic Conference in a tri-meet at Messiah College in Grantham.

King's women fell to host Messiah 133-71 and Arcadia University 126-79. The Monarch men came up short against Messiah

King's men fell to Messiah 114-90 and also fell to Arcadia 133-72. With the losses King's women fell to 4-3 while the men slipped to 5-2.

Kirsten Siwy was a winner in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:17.88 and the 100-breaststroke at 1:10.44. Kaelyn Gardner was second in the 100-butterfly at 1:03.27. Shannon Dolan was third in the 500-freestyle with a 5:39.75. KIng's 200-medley relay team of Noelle Pedersen, Melina Good, Siwy, and Gardner were third at 1:57.45.

Bryce Groshardt won the 100-backstroke with a time of 55.08 and was third in the 200-individual medley at 2:04.93. Rhyce Hammaker captured the 100-breaststroke at 1:02.36. Dan Weekes was second in the 100-freestyle with a time of 50.06. Bryce Groshardt was third in the 200 individual medley with a 2:04.93. King's 200-freestyle relay team of Weekes, Groshardt, Hammaker, and Chris Dionne were second with a time of 1:30.44.

King's returns to the pool January 20 with a home tri-meet with Lycoming and FDU-Florham at 1:00 PM in Scandlon Gymnasium.
