KING'S MEN'S ICE HOCKEY FALLS AT SUNY CANTON
CANTON, N.Y. --- The King's College men's ice hockey team fell to SUNY Canton 6-1 on Friday afternoon at Roos House in Canton.
The Monarchs fell to 0-16-0 in their inaugural season while SUNY Canton improved to 5-11-2.
The Kangaroos opened up the scoring 10 minutes into the game when Zach Pease found the back of the net on a power play opportunity. Canton increased their lead to 4-0 with three second period in a span of 2:16.
The Roos scored twice more in the third period to build a 6-0 lead. The Monarchs got on the board with 1:05 remaining in the game when
Tyler O'Mara scored his first career goal off assists by
Luciano Bucci and
Andrew Newman.
Jake Tugnutt made 33 saves in net for the Monarchs who were outshot 39-19 in the game.
Zach Pease and Joe Deveny led Canton with two goals each. Joey Vocino recorded a goal and an assist while Josh Sova had two assists. Michael Cerasuolo recorded 18 saves to pick up the win in goal.
King's will be back in action tomorrow night when they open up the second half of UCHC play by hosting Elmira College at 7:00 p.m. at Revolution Ice Centre in Pittston. The Soaring Eagles defeated the Monarchs 7-4 back in November in King's second-ever game.
