KING'S SWIMMERS IMPRESSIVE IN SWEEP OF LYCOMING, FDU-FLORHAM

WILKES-BARRE — The King's College men's and women's swimming teams put together perhaps their most impressive performances of the season with a tri-meet sweep of Middle Atlantic Confernee rivals Lycoming College and FDU-Florham.

KIng's men defeated Lycoming 186-65 and FDU174-87. The Lady Monarchs downed Lycoming 177-84 and FDU168-76.

The Monarch men improved their season record to 7-2 while the women upped their mark to 6-3.

King's 200-medley relay team of Megan Whitt, Kirsten Siwy, Kaelyn Gardner, and Melina Good were the winners with a time of 1:56.62.

Kirsten Siwy was a triple winner, capturing the 100-breaststroke with a time of 1:10.09, the 200-breaststroke at 2:32.72, and the 200-individual medley with a 2:18.88.   Noelle Pedersen won the 200-backstroke at 2:19.82 and was second in the 100-backstroke at 1:05.44

Mikayla Miller won the 200-freestyle at 2:08.09 and was second in the 100-freestyle at 59.07. Gardner finished first in the 100-butterfly at 1:03.17 and was second in the 200-butterfly with a time of 2:24.51.

King's Shannon Dolan was second in the 1000-freestyle with a 11:25.56 while Amanda Schwerdtman was second in the 500-freestyle with a 5:38.21 and third in the 1000-freestyle at 11:32.95.

King's 200-freestyle relay team of Abbi Strennen, Miller, Alyssa Gesek, and Good were winners with a time of 1:48.21

The men's 200-medley relay team of Bryce Groshardt, Rhyce Hammaker, Chris Dionne, and Dan Weekes were victorious with a time of 1:40.68

Hammaker captured the 100-breaststroke at 1:02.08 and the 200-breaststroke with a 2:21.39.  Weekes won the 50-freestyle with a time of 22.00 and the 100-freestyle at 49.30.  

James Martin won the 200-butterfly at 2:08.53 while Groshardt captured the 200-individual medley with a 2:06.30 and was second in the 200-freestyle at 1:50.76

King's Tyler Higgins touched first in the 1000-freestyle at 10:28.05 and was second in the 200-butterfly with a 2:13.07 while Chris Soutter was second with a 10:43.33. Sutter was also second in the 500-freestyle at 5:06.56

Chris Michael was second n the 100-breaststroke with a 1:04.31 while Jason Yerger finished second in the 100-backstroke with a 58.55.

The Monarch 200-freestyle relay team of Marti, Weekes, Michael, and Dionne won the event at 1:30.76.

King's returns to the pool Saturday with a 1:00 PM matchup against Misericordia University.
