SCRANTON, Pa. (October 20, 2018) – It was a two-game sweep at the Marywood University Tri-Match as King's College faced Marywood and then Pratt Institute defeating both in three straight sets. The Monarchs are now on a three-game streak and advance their overall record to 20-8. This is just the second time in the school's 46-year history that a senior class has accumulated its fourth consecutive 20-win season.

In King's first contest against Marywood, seniors
Rachel Miller and
Olivia Musto combined to contribute 22 out of the 33 kills scored in the match.
Becca Goldberg supported with her five terminations. Miller also had three aces and
Grace Frati threw in two of her own. The Monarchs kept the Pacers down to a .061 hit percentage thanks to the assistance at the net by
Danielle Kitchner with her season-high of four blocks.
Goldberg also recorded three blocks and setter
Wiatt Hoffmann even had two. Hoffmann was able to set up every kill sunk by the Monarchs tonight totaling a cool 33. Miller was ready on the defensive side where she tallied 12 digs for the team. King's hit an average .244 and only committed 11 errors on 90 attempts. The sets were won 25-20, 25-18, and 25-11.

Facing Pratt, the Monarchs won in set scores of 25-14, 25-15 and 25-16. Pratt was held to a -0.24 hit percentage compared to King's .129. Miller (12), Kitchner (8) and Goldberg (7) led the charge in kills and Hoffmann in assists (24) as well as lifting seven digs. Freshman libero
Taylor Mueller came through with five aces on top of her team lead of 17 digs while
Karissa Hartzell added three aces to her season stats. Kitchner remained a threat on defense at the net with three blocks putting her total for the day at seven.
Christie Brown scored the final kill of the match and solidified the Monarch victory.
King's will play in their final MAC Freedom match against DeSales University at home in the McGrane Gymnasium at 7:00 p.m. this Wednesday, October 24.
