WILKES-BARRE, PA (October 6, 2018) –The Monarchs fared well in the King's College Tri-Match this afternoon taking down both Albright College and Rutgers-Newark in three-set sweeps changing their overall record to 15-5. Albright broke even today in their match-ups advancing to 6-11 while the Scarlet Raiders dropped 0-2 and sit at 12-7. King's College is now on a five-game win streak dominating each one in three sets.

In the first challenge the Monarchs and Lions went head-to-head. King's was led in kills byÂ
Rachel Galante (9),Â
Rachel Miller (9) andÂ
Danielle Kitchner (6) who combined to sink the 24 overall kills. Galante and Kitchner also teamed up to deliver two block assists.Â
Wiatt Hoffman as always notched her aces, tallying up four in total withÂ
Toni Galasso coming in just one short of that. Hoffman was also able to set up 27 out of 34 executions.Â
Taylor Mueller (16) and Galasso (10) lifted an exceptional amount of digs to keep the scores spread and help the Monarchs finish 25-11,25-18 and 25-17.Â

In the last contest of the day the Scarlet Raiders were on the docket after losing to Albright 3-2. With scores of 25-16, 25-13 and 25-15 King's took home the victory. It was Miller with 14 kills who topped the team tonight and freshmanÂ
Becca Goldberg not far behind at 10. Mueller came in with 21 digs and two service aces and Kitchner and Goldberg kept that defense going with three blocks assists. Hoffman supported kills 33 times and contributed an ace. Collectively the team hit a .262 with 40 kills and only committed 12 errors compared to the Raiders 18.Â
The Monarch's head down the street to Marts Center this Wednesday October 10 at 7:00 p.m. to face Wilkes University in a MAC Freedom contest.
