WILKES-BARRE, PA (December 4, 2018) – The King's College Men's and Women's swim team are in a non-conference match up against Immaculata University this Friday at 6:00 p.m. Both Men's and Women's swim team for Immaculata are trying to get their first win of the season.

The Monarchs were able to make their mark at the Diamond City Invitational placing the highest they ever have in the history of hosting the Invitational. The men won first place with a total of 673.5 points surpassing second place by almost 100 points. The women not only placed second with 602 points overall but were able to set two more records in session III bringing their total to five for the weekend.Â

The Book on the Monarchs:
- Kirsten Siwy was able to set another record for the women's 500 freestyle finishing in 5:20.15.
- Chris Soutter was able to put on a good race during the 1650 freestyle winning it three seconds faster than his opponent during the Diamond City Invitational.
- Dan Weekes, Bryce Groshardt, Rhyce Hammaker and Chris Dionne made up the men's team for the 200-freestyle relay that placed first during the Diamond City Invitational with a time of 1:27.87.
- The women's 400-yard medley relay team of Liz Savidge, Siwy, Kaelyn Gardner and Claire Coe was able to set a new school record finishing with a time of 4:03.20.
- Savidge broke her second individual record of the season in the 200-backstroke surpassing teammate Noelle Pedersen with a time of 2:13.43.
- The team of Savidge, Coe, Siwy and Melina Good notched another record-breaking time for the 400-freestyle relay at 3:45.00 as well as the new record for the 200-freestyle relay at 1:41.49.

The Book on the Mighty Macs:
- During the Mighty Mac Women's Swim team's meet against William Patterson, the Macs were able to put up their highest score yet this season with 85 points.
- Sophomore Elizabeth Herlihey won the 200-yard individual medley, breaststroke and butterfly events and contributed to the win for the 400-yard freestyle relay.
- Cassandra Theil, Katie Schisler, and Sarah Frick all received their first career event win.
- For the Men's team, Joseph Duddy picked up two wins during the William Patterson meet along with Frank Masino picking up one in the breaststroke.
- Both Duddy and Herlihey were placed on the Atlantic East Conference Weekly Honor Roll for their recent strong performances.

Up Next:Â The Monarchs will host Arcadia University at the Scandlon Pool on Saturday, January 12 at 1:00 p.m. this will be the first of three back-to-back conference duals for King's.
