WILKES-BARRE, PA (September 18, 2018) – The King's College men's soccer team will look to rebound from Saturday's tough loss to New Paltz on Wednesday when they host Cabrini University at 7 p.m. in McCarthy Stadium.

Last Time Out: King's saw their shutout streak come to an end in the 106th minute of a 1-0 loss to New Paltz on Saturday night at McCarthy Stadium. The Monarchs held the high-powered Hawk offense in check until Pedro Marshall found open space 30 yards out for the match's lone goal.
Owen Geedey made five saves in net for King's including a huge penalty kick save late in regulation.
The Book On The Monarchs (3-3-1):
- The King's defense has been spectacular this year allowing just three goals in 671:42 minutes of action. Their .402 goals against average leads the MAC Freedom and is 24th in the nation. The Monarchs are giving up just 5.1 shots per game and defended 18 corner kicks.
- Junior Aidan DeCamillo is tied for fifth in the MAC Freedom with two goals on the season. His five points are tied for eighth in the conference.
- Senior Owen Geedey continues to plant himself among the nation's statistical leaders in minutes played and shutouts. He is fourth in the nation with 671:42 minutes played and has four shutouts this season which is ranked eighth in the nation. He is currently the school record holder with 26 career shutouts. His .850 save percentage is third in the conference while his 0.40 goals against average is the best in the conference and 30th in the nation.
- The Monarchs have received one goal each from senior Steven Grebe, juniors August Axtman and Fabio Massa, and sophomore Liam McLoughlin. Junior Ryan Romeo and freshman Quentin Szeker-Cortes have recorded an assist each.
- King's is outshooting their opponents 114-36 this year and have put 46 shots on goal through seven matches. The team leads the conference and are fifth in the nation with 8.29 corner kicks taken per match.
The Book On The Cavaliers (2-3-1):
- Cabrini is 2-3-1 on the season after a 1-1 draw with Cairn on Saturday. The Cavaliers are 2-0 on Wednesdays this season with a 1-0 double overtime victory at DeSales and a 1-0 victory over Rutgers-Camden last week in Radnor. Cabrini begins a three-match stretch against the MAC Freedom with a home match against rival Eastern on Saturday and then a road match at Delaware Valley next week.
- Expectations are high this year for the Cavs after a 11-9-1 season where they won the CSAC Championships and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament with a 1-0 upset of #17 Rowan, Cabrini was selected as the unanimous favorite to win the newly formed Atlantic East Conference and was receiving votes in the national poll.
- Junior Andre Justin has scored two goals this season on four shots to lead the team. Senior Matt Ochman and sophomore John Griffin have scored a goal each.
- Sophomore Anthony Zampirri and junior Mike Gould have split time in goal. Zamirri is 2-1-1 in four starts with a 0.91 GAA and a .840 save percentage. He is second in the AEC in GAA, save percentage, and saves per match with 5.25. Gould has made two starts with a 2.50 GAA and a .500 save percentage.
- Similar to the Monarchs, the Cavs have played a tough non-conference schedule so far and are being outscored 9-4 and outshot 92-45.
- Cabrini is 5-2-1 against King's on the soccer pitch since 1992. King's won last year's match in Radnor on a 85th minute goal by Alastair Dinnan off a set piece.
