Last Time Out: Kara Keim gave the Monarchs a 1-0 lead against Lebanon Valley but a penalty kick goal in regulation and a free kick goal in double overtime gave the Dutchmen a 2-1 victory over King's in Annville last Saturday. Freshman
Tara Bender made a season high six saves in goal for the Monarchs.
The Book On The Monarchs (3-4-0, 0-0-0 MAC Freedom):
- King's enters Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom play battle tested with six of their seven matched being decided by one goal. Three of the Monarchs four losses have been in overtime. The Monarchs have played the fourth toughest schedule in the conference and 128th in the nation this year.
- The team is outshooting their opponents 68-58 this season but have not been as successful in scoring. King's has scored eight goals and allowed 10.
- Junior Danielle Putnam leads the Monarchs and is eighth in the conference with six points on two goals and two assists. The forward is ranked 67th in the nation and second in the MAC Freedom with two game-winning goals.
- Freshman defender Kara Keim has provided an offensive spark the past two matches scoring King's last two goals including the game-winner against Centenary last week. She was named the MAC Freedom Offensive Player of the Week for her efforts. Junior Sophia Sacknievich has also scored twice this season. Two goals are the fifth-most scored in the MAC Freedom this year.
- Three sophomores have also done damage for the Monarchs this season. Emily Harrington has scored a goal and added an assist while Emma Baumbusch and Stephanie Corea are tied for fourth in the conference with two assists each.
- Senior Allison Andrew is starting to see more time on the pitch coming off an injury and has scored one goal on three shots while starting the past three matches.
- Tara Bender has emerged as King's top goalkeeper this season making five starts and playing in six matches. Her 1.55 goals against average in ranked fourth in the conference and she has a .719 save percentage. The freshman has recorded a 3-3 record in 524:05 minutes of action.
- Junior Jess Schenfeld has also seen time in net making two starts. She has a 0.65 GAA in 139:32 minutes of action and a save percentage of .750.
- King's has done a great job at producing corner kicks this year as the Monarchs are third in the conference with 5.71 per match ad 40 total. The Monarchs have allowed their opponents to take just 27 corners kicks. King's has been the best in the MAC Freedom this year in not committing offsides with just four in seven matches.
The Book On The Devils (7-1-1, 0-0-0 MAC Freedom):
- FDU-Florham enters conference play with a 7-1-1 record against a weak non-conference schedule. The Devils are ranked 381st out of 438 in strength of schedule with a combined opponent winning percentage of .387.
- The Devils haven't played since a 3-0 victory at St. Joseph's Long Island on Sunday. FDU-Florham was scheduled to face Albright on Tuesday but postponed the match. The Devils are 4-1-1 on the road this season with Saturday's contest being their longest trip of the year so far. Saturday will be their fourth consecutive road match because of Tuesday's postponement.
- FDU-Florham has taken full advantage of their weak non-conference schedule by outscoring their opponents 25-6 and lead the conference in nearly every offensive category. They are outshooting teams 157-76 and have a 53-16 corner kick advantage.
- Junior transfer Erika Pita leads the conference with 16 points on seven goals and two assists. Pita began the season with three goals and an assist against NJCU and one goal against Ramapo to earn the first conference Offensive Player of the Week award of the year. She added two goals and an assist against Centenary and scored a goal on Sunday.
- Sophomore Amanda Croce is second in the conference with 13 points on six goals and one assist. She has scored in six different matches this year including a streak of four straight that was ended last week against TCNJ. She is seventh in the nation with four game-winning goals.
- Sophomore Tatiana Nieto leads the conference and is sixth in the nation with eight assists. She has also scored two goals for 12 points which is third in the MAC Freedom.
- Sophomore Erica Martins adds nine points on three goals and three assists while classmate Nathalia Gallo has recorded two goals and two assists.
- Sophomore Ashley Paulino has recorded five shutouts in goal and has recorded a 0.65 goals against average and a .842 save percentage. She leads the MAC Freedom in minutes played with 828:58 and in second in GAA and save percentage.
- The Devils are 16-6-2 against the Monarchs all-time including an 8-2-1 record in Wilkes-Barre. King's broke a 15-match losing skid against FDU-Florham in 2013 with a 3-1 victory in Madison and are 2-1-2 in the past five meetings. The Devils lone victory was last year's 3-1 victory in Madison.
