JJ Glinsky recorded a career-high 35 points to lead the King's College men's basketball team to a 94-88 victory over Lehman College Saturday afternoon. Four Monarchs recorded double-digit point totals as they improve to 3-1 on the season.
The first half of this game was a back-and-forth affair, as the two teams saw five ties and 10 lead changes over the first 20 minutes of action. The Monarchs led early as senior
Andrew Hudak scored a layup to start the game before Lehman scored six straight to take a four-point lead. King's would tied the game, 6-6, on Glinsky's first three-pointer of the game. The Lightning would regain the lead as the Monarchs trailed by up to nine points before taking the lead back, 21-20, off another three by Glinsky with 9:54 left in the half. Both teams would keep the score close before King's took a 10-point lead, 45-35, on a three by freshman

King's continued their momentum as they maintained the lead until the 6:28 mark on a layup by Tommy Batista tied the game, 72-72. The Monarchs answered with back-to-back three's by senior

Tyler Millan off an assist by Glinsky, the Monarchs held a seven-point advantage, 87-80, with 1:37 left in game. Lehman was forced to foul and put King's on the free-throw line where they connected on 5-of-6 attempts over the remainder of the game to secure the win, 94-88.
Glinsky came off the bench to play big minutes, totaling 27, as he would lead the Monarchs offense with a career-high 35 points on 9-of-14 shooting, including 7-for-11 from beyond the arc and 10-of-12 from the charity stripe. The sophomore also totaled a career and team-high five assists in the win.
Other top Monarchs for the game include Bailey who added 15 points, connecting on 3-of-4 from three-point land with three assists and three steals. Continuing their excellent play were Faux and Hudak, as Faux scored 14 points and Hudak added 14 points and a team-high seven boards and a block.
King's shot 44.8 percent for the game on 26-of-58 shooting, and they connected for 14-of-32 three-point attempts to shoot 43.8 percent beyond the arc. The Monarchs also shot 84.8 percent from teh charity stripe as they made 28 of their 33 attempts. As a team, King's also added 34 rebounds, 13 assists, six steals, and three blocks. In addition, the Monarchs bench outscored the Lightning bench, 40-14.
The Monarchs are back in action on Tuesday for another road test as they travel to Allentown, PA to face the Mules of Muhlenberg College, with tip off set for 7:30 p.m.
