WILLIAMSPORT, PA (February 23, 2019) — King's College ends their season 17
th out of 20 teams at the NCAA Division III Southeast Regionals. Senior
Matt Sparks was the last Monarch standing today and finished eighth in the 149-weight class.
After going 2-1 yesterday Sparks was slated to face Bryce Crew of Washington & Lee. It was a tough break as Sparks fell in a 14-0 major decision that pushed him to the consolation bracket where he would place seventh or eighth in his class.
In his last match the senior wrestled Wilkes's Kyle Medrow who would go on to place seventh in the tournament. Sparks got caught in a pin at 1:32 in the first period and finished his run in the tournament at eighth. Sparks finishes the season 27-17 overall with two pins, 44 takedowns, 25 escapes and 76.5 team points.
The Monarchs end their season 1-20 overall and 0-2 in conference matches.
