Men’s Ice Hockey Drops Hard Fought Contest At Bryn Athyn

BRYN ATHYN, PA (February 8, 2020) --- The King's College men's ice hockey team finished up their non-conference portion of their schedule on Saturday evening with a hard fought 4-0 defeat at the hands of host Bryn Athyn College.

The Lions (11-9-3) scored in each period while outshooting the Monarchs (2-18-1) 44-14. King's, who have been dealing with injuries and illness over the past couple of weeks gave BAC a tough battle but were unable to find the back of the net against goaltender McKenzie Chalmers. Zach Pamaylaon scored twice for the Lions and added an assist. Vojtech Luza and Alex Tan had two assists each on both of Pamaylaon's goals.

Tyler O'Mara, Rhett Padgett, Alex Acosta, and Connor Lavin each had two shots for King's. Tyler Sayger stopped 40 shots in goal. The sophomore made 13 saves in the first period, 15 in the second, and then 12 in the third.

KC was called for five penalties in the game while BAC was called for six. The Monarchs went scoreless on four power play opportunities and were successful on three penalty kills.

The Monarchs will return to UCHC action next weekend with a pair of games against teams fighting for one of the final postseason spots. On Friday night King's will take on Manhattanville College from the Playland Ice Casino in Rye, NY. On Saturday they will make the trip down the turnpike to take on Neumann University in Aston, PA.
