WILKES-BARRE, PA (April 24, 2021) -- The King's College men's tennis team dominated singles play for the second straight match, earning five of six individual outings as the Monarchs topped Lycoming College 7-2 in play from Kirby Park Saturday.
First-year
Joe Lennon paired with senior
Austin Mackey to pick up an 8-5 victory at No. 2 doubles, while the Monarchs also earned a default win at No. 3 doubles to take a 2-1 edge into singles play.
King's (4-3, 3-2 MAC Freedom) picked up another default win at No. 6 singles, and sophomore
Logan Gregory chalked up a 6-1, 6-1 straight-set win for his fourth win of the 2021 campaign. It was also the fourth win in the last five singles' matches for Gregory.
Senior
Jason Homschek picked up his second straight win, moving to 4-2 on the season with a 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 3 singles over Luke Leach. Lennon earned his second victory of the day at the No. 4 position, as he also moved to 4-2 overall on the year with a 6-4, 6-3 triumph.
Junior
Nick Holland chalked up his first win of the season at No. 5 singles, topping Frank Summerson 6-4, 6-3. The victory was King's second this week, moving to over .500 for the second time this year, after going 1-0 after a win over Misericordia.
King's will be back in action Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. from Kirby Park, taking on Stevens Institute of Technology in more MAC Freedom play.
