WILKES BARRE, PA (January 28, 2022) --- The King's College men's ice hockey team were defeated 8-1 by eighth ranked Wilkes University on Friday evening in Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) action at the Toyota Sportsplex.
The Colonels struck first at the 11:25 mark in the first period when Jimmy O'Kane found the back of the net. The Monarch defense tightened up to deny Wilkes from adding to their tally in the opening period. King's goalkeeper
Matt Bidini recorded 16 saves in the first.
Wilkes came out strong in the second period as they scored three goals in the opening ten minutes, including two off the stick of Nick Fea. The Monarchs got on the board late in the second period when
Aaron Frenkel tucked away a rebound shot at the 15:31 mark for his third goal of the season.
The Colonels would go on to score three goals in the third period, as the game finished with a final score of 8-1 in favor of Wilkes. Nick Fea led WU with four goals and one assist, while Tyler Barrow added a goal and an assist. Frenkel,

Luke Babilon all recorded three shots for King's. Bidini saw action in the first 46:13 and recorded 30 saves before being relieved by
Nick Konkel who made three saves in his Monarch debut.
King's will return to action next Friday at 7:00 PM when they travel to Lebanon Valley College for another MAC contest.
