WILKES-BARRE, PA (October 4, 2022) --- The King's College women's soccer team responded from losing their MAC Freedom opener on Saturday, by defeating the visiting Delaware Valley University Aggies 6-0, on the back of five second half goals, Tuesday evening from McCarthy Stadium. With the win the Monarchs improve to 7-2-2 overall, and 1-1 in conference, while the Aggies fall to 6-5-1, and 0-2 in the MAC Freedom. 
It was a fast start for King's (7-2-2, 1-1) who were able to get the first two shots of the game, both within the opening two minutes. Delaware Valley (6-5-1, 0-2) responded with a shot themselves before the teams traded shots for the remainder of the first 23 minutes. However, the Monarchs took over following that point, as sophomore 
Liz Porto got King's on the board finishing off a pass from junior 
Madelyn Reuter, to give King's a 1-0 lead in the 27
th minute. King's remained on the front foot for the remainder of the half, only allowing the Aggies to get one more shot off, as the Monarchs took the 1-0 lead into the break. 
The second half was much of the same, while the Aggies got the first shot of the period off in the opening thirty seconds, the Monarchs would score twice in the span of a minute and a half to extend the lead to 3-0. The first goal came from first-year 
Jenna Waldbillig who collected her first career goal at 47:06, before sophomore 
Raina Adelman took a pass from sophomore 
Leah Sankey scoring at 48:30. King's would continue the offensive onslaught, as Porto tallied her second goal of the match off a nifty glancing header off an Adelman corner kick, giving the Monarchs a 4-0 lead in 61
st minute. King's would two more goals in the final 12 minutes, with the first coming from junior 
Lauren Chapple in the 79
th minute, before first-year 
Maryanna Garcia tallied her first collegiate goal in the 84
th minute finishing off a beautiful through pass from fellow first-year 
Megan Thompson, putting the final touches on the 6-0 Monarchs win. 
King's dominated in all facets of the game, outshooting Delaware Valley 35-10 overall, holding an 18-5 advantage on shots on target, while also outgaining the Aggies 11-0 in corner kick opportunities. 
Offensively, the Monarchs were led by Porto who tallied four points on two goals and Adelman who collected three points on a goal and an assist, while both led the team with five total shots, including three on target from Porto and five on target for Adelman. Additionally, Waldbillig, Chapple, and Garcia all added two points, scoring one goal, while Thompson, Reuter, and Sankey picked up one point, each tallying an assist. Graduate student 
Tara Bender got the start in net, making five saves, before giving way in the 73
rd minute for first-year 
Ashlyn Crawford to get her first collegiate minutes in goal. 
For the Aggies, Jess Williamson and Gillian Baker led the attack as both tallied four total shots, with two on target. Additionally, Caroline Hipple and Marley Bramsway both added singular shots. Olivia Sherwood got the start in goal for Delaware Valley making nine saves and conceding four goals, before giving way in the 73
rd minute to Viola Anderson who made three saves, conceding two goals. 
The Monarchs get a week off before hosting cross-town foe Wilkes University in a MAC Freedom contest at McCarthy Stadium on Wednesday, October 12 with kickoff set for 7 pm.
