Men's Hockey Falls to Albertus Magnus 7-1 on Friday Night

WILKES-BARRE, PA (November 18, 2022) --- The King's College men's ice hockey team fell to visiting Albertus Magnus College 7-1, on Friday night at Revolution Ice Centre. With the loss King's falls to 2-5-0 on the season, while the Falcons improve to 4-2-0 on the campaign. 
 
Albertus Magnus (4-2-0) came out quickly and opened the scoring on the power play at 3:38, before doubling their lead, just over twenty seconds later, on a goal by Stephen Krykostas. King's (2-5-0, 2-3-0) responded late in the period as sophomore Tyler Blanchard finished a nifty passing play, from fellow sophomores Jack Cooper and Kent Lee, to cut the lead in half at 17:24 on the power play. 
 
The Falcons scored quickly again in the second period, this time just 27 seconds into the frame, before extending the lead to 4-1 at 10:54, taking the 4-1 lead into the third period. The third period began much like the previous two, as Albertus Magnus once again scored early, this time finding the net at 28 seconds. Albertus Magnus added two more goals, at 8:04 and 18:03, to take the contest 7-1. 
 
Senior Ismael Ralsten continued his stretch of play in net, making 28 saves on 35 shots, picking up the loss. Blanchard paced the offense, tallying the lone goal, while Lee and Cooper both added an assist. King's won 29 of 70 face-offs, led by Blanchard who won 13 of 24. The Monarchs continued their strong special teams play, going 1-5 on the power play, and 5-7 on the penalty kill. 
 
Logan Bateman made 19 saves on 20 shots, picking up the win for Albertus Magnus in goal. Offensively, the Falcons were led by Tate Manning who tallied three goals, Charles Risk who recorded one goal and two assists and Cameron Weitzman who notched three assists. Albertus Magnus won 41 of 70 face-offs, going 2-7 on the power play and 4-5 on the penalty kill. 
 
King's travels to Glenside, PA to take on Arcadia University in the front end of a home-and-home with the Knight on Dec. 2 with a puck drop at 7:30 p.m. at Hatfield Ice Arena.
