WILKES-BARRE, PA (November 4, 2022)-- The King's College Monarchs men's swimming team came away with a sweep in their first tri-meet of the season on Saturday night at Scandlon Natatorium. They defeated Lebanon Valley College by the final of 99-91 and FDU-Florham 98-70. With the sweep, King's improves to 3-4 overall and 3-0 at home.
The Monarchs opened up the evening on a high note, winning the the first three events. This started with the 200 yard medley relay. The team of senior

Anthony Macko defeated two Lebanon Valley squads competing in the event with a time of 1:50.37.
The winning continued for King's in the 1000 yard freestyle. Junior
Anthony Ursini had a close-fought win finishing with a time of 11:01.57.
The third event was the 200 free which featured Bixler. Bixler finished atop five swimmers at 1:57.02. Junior
Joey Slish finished third in the event at 2:08.07. The 50 free saw the Monarchs come in second and third. Graham had a final time of 23.52 in the event while Macko finished at 23.69.
King's began to taste victory again in the 200 yard IM. Junior
Andrew Pursel came out on top in his first event of the evening with a time of 2:12.16. Aguero got his first of two individual wins on the night in the 100 yard butterfly. He recorded a commanding first place finish at 57.85. Teammate Bixler followed him in second at 59.28.
The following event was the 100 free. Pursel, Graham and Macko finished in third, fourth and fifth out of nine.
Aguero got his second win on the day in the 500 free. He finished first out of six at 5:21.04. Ursini landed in third in the event. The final event for the men was the 100 yard breast stroke where Pursel represented the Monarchs. He came in second with a time of 1:06.89 to close out the night.
The Monarchs will look to bring their winning ways on the road with them next Friday when they travel to Arcadia University for a meet which starts at 6:00 p.m.
