COLMAR, PA (February 5, 2022) -- Tyler Blanchard recorded the first hat trick in program history and the King's College men's ice hockey team rallied from a 4-0 deficit to defeat Arcadia University 6-4 to earn an important three points in United Collegiate Hockey Conference action on Saturday afternoon at the Hatfield Ice Arena in Colmar.

The host Knights scored three times in the first period and 1:24 into the second to build a 4-0 lead in the game. The Monarchs fought right back as Blanchard tallied his first goal of the game on the power play at 5:47 of the period off assists by Kent Lee and Jack Cooper. A couple minutes later Lee scored his fifth goal of the season on the power play to cut the lead to 4-2. Mahingan Decontie recorded his third assist of the year on the goal by Lee.

King's came roaring out of the second intermission with Decontie scoring his fourth goal of the year 1:54 into the period off assists by Lee and Josh Edwards. The Monarchs evened the score with 8:38 left when Blanchard lit the lamp for the second time off a pass by Cooper. With Arcadia pressing for the tying goal Blanchard put the game away with an empty net goal with 20 seconds left to record his program record third goal of the game.

The Monarchs were boosted by a strong defensive performance by Matt Bidini who allowed just one goal and made 21 saves after entering the game for Brandon Daigle who made 19 saves on 22 shots in 18:42 minutes of work. Lee finished with one goal and three assists to equal the program records in assist and points.
