ROCHESTER, NY (February 5, 2022) --
Emma Clark scored her second goal of the year in the third period as King's women's ice hockey dropped a 16-1 decision to seventh-ranked Nazareth College on Saturday afternoon in Rochester.
The highly-ranked Golden Flyers scored seven times in the first period and six times in the second before scoring three more goals in the third period against the Monarchs. Clark scored her power play goal at 19:37 of the third period off assists by
Erin King and
Meghan Mietlicki. King recorded her fifth assist of the year and 10th of her career while Mietlicki recorded the third assist of the season and 12th of her career. The Monarchs battled tough all game against the conference-leading Golden Flyers who had 17 different skaters record a point.
Ally Watrous led the Nazareth attack with four goals while Madison Nichols and Abbey Luth recorded two goals and two assists each. The Golden Flyers took 64 shots.
Clark scored on her only shot of the game while
Ali Noeding,
Tessa Deemer,
Erin King,
Savannah Willard, and
Jordan Dittmar had a shot each.
Josée Aitken won a team-high four faceoffs.
Syd Dahl made 27 saves in 28:25 minutes of action while
Hannah Bowers stopped 21 shots in 31:35 minutes. King's scored on one of three power play opportunities and were successful on three of five penalty kills.
The two teams will wrap up their season series tomorrow afternoon with a 3:15 pm puck drop at Bill Gray's Regional IcePlex in Rochester.
