WILKES-BARRE, PA (March 21, 2022) -- A strong opening quarter by the visiting Susquehanna University proved costly as the King's College women's lacrosse team fell, 22-7, at McCarthy Stadium in non-conference play on Monday afternoon. King's falls to 0-6 overall, while the River Hawks improve to 7-2 for the season.
Susquehanna (7-2) started the game hot as they recorded the first five goals. King's (0-6) got on the board with 7:59 left in the first thanks to a man-up goal by first year

The River Hawks would then go on to score six unanswered goals that extended into the second period, but King's answered to break the stretch off Koslop's first goal of the day to trail 11-2 with 5:22 to go in the half. The two teams traded goals to end the half with Susquehanna ahead, 12-3.
King's got on the board first in the second half with 12:58 as Lindsay recorded her second man-up goal from Koslop of the game with 12:58 remaining in the third. The River Hawks tacked on another goal 17 seconds later to pull ahead, 13-4. First year Carli Komoroski scored her first goal of the day in a man-down possession on an assist from first year

The River Hawks recorded four straight before Koslop found the net, unassisted, for her third goal of the day as time expired in the third with the Monarchs trailing, 17-6. Susquehanna netted three before Lindsay tallied her third goal of the game, but the visitors had the final two scores before posting the 22-7 final in non-conference play on Monday afternoon.
Koslop led King's with five points on her hat trick game of three goals and two assists. Lindsay posted her first career hat trick with three goals on three shots an assist for four points, also adding two ground balls and two caused turnovers. Sidney Bush recorded the loss as the starter while making six saves. Junior
Jessie Smalley came in relief to total nine saves between the pipes.
Caroline Chase paced the River Hawks with 12 points on four goals and eight assists on five shots with three ground balls. Heather Riefenhauser scored four times with three assists for seven points on seven shots with three ground balls and two caused turnovers. Emmy Regan totaled three saves in the win in goal for Susquehanna.
King's will be back in action on Saturday, March 26 as they travel to Chambersburg, Pa. to take on Wilson College at 11:00 a.m.
