WILKES-BARRE, PA (March 30, 2022) – The Knights of Arcadia got out to a hot start and did not let off the gas as they toppled the Monarchs 20-3.
The Monarchs and Knights began the game exchanging shots with none hitting the back of the net as both teams went scoreless for the first 5 minutes of play. James Barretta broke open the scoring for both squads, netting the first goal of the game for Arcadia at the 9:14 mark of the first quarter. Both teams would settle into their grooves, exchanging opportunities with both coming up scoreless again for the next almost 4 minutes. Alex Herka and Landan Hajek both scored for the Knights within 35 seconds of each other, extending the Arcadia lead to 3-0 with 5:01 left in the first quarter of play. Billy Burton was the last to score in the quarter, putting 1 past the goalie at the 1:15 mark. The Monarchs finished the first quarter down 4-0 to the visiting Knights.
The Knights continued their run, scoring 2 quick goals in the first minute and a half of the second quarter. The Monarchs finally lit up the scoreboard with senior
Brendan Gambino notching a goal with 13:14 left in the second quarter. Arcadia would score the next 2 goals to close out the scoring in the first half, leaving the score at 8-1 going into halftime.
Arcadia acted quickly, scoring less than a minute into the second half thanks to a goal from Brian Albertsen. The Monarchs responded with a goal from first year
Ben Spencer to draw the score to 9-2 in favor of the Knights. Just over a minute later, the Knights found the back of the net with Brady Manion scoring his second of the game. Sean Connolly and Brian Albertson both netted another for Arcadia to wrap up the scoring in the third quarter and to make the score 12-2 at the break.
The Knights did not let off the gas as they continued to fill the scoresheet. Arcadia began the fourth quarter scoring just 18 seconds in, thanks to Billy Burton putting his second in the net. Just 15 seconds later, Justin Chinici scored his first of 4 goals in the fourth quarter. Sean Connolly and Chinici went on to alternate scoring the next 4 goals, stretching the Knights' lead to 16 as the led the Monarchs 18-2. Sophomore
Ryan Barnes stopped the run at the 4:12 mark of the fourth quarter off the assist from
Alec Martin. The Knights closed out the game scoring 2 more to put the final score at 20-3 in favor of the Knights.
The Monarchs had 5 players with 1 point each with Spencer, Barnes, and Gambino each having a goal and Martin and first year
Jake Cierech each having an assist. Senior

Alex Tristan, and senior
Andrew Trainer each had 2 caused turnovers with Shaffer also snagging 6 ground balls. Junior
Matt Wall played a full game between the pipes stopping 24 shots while picking up 6 ground balls.
The Knights were led by Justin Chinici with 6 points on 4 goals and 2 assists. Arcadia had 3 with 2 caused turnovers. The Knights went a combined 17-25 at the faceoff dot with AJ Dominguez leading as he went 9-11. Timmy Fyock played a majority of the game as he made 16 saves with 2 goals against and got the win. Cole Dexter also made an appearance in the net, making 1 save and allowing 1 goal.
