ANNVILLE, PA (April 11, 2022) -- After their inaugural varsity season was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the King's College men's volleyball program missed out on earning their first All-MAC post-season honors. This season, the Monarchs are proud to announce that sophomore opposite hitter Jared Piontkowski has become the first Monarch to be named to the All-MAC team in the program's short varsity history.

Piontkowski earns All-MAC Honorable Mention accolades in his first collegiate season, emerging as a dominant force in the MAC. He led King's with 309 kills, 77.0 total blocks, and 33 service aces, while adding a team third-best 124 digs. His 3.59 kills per set ranked third among MAC opponents, while his 0.90 blocks per set placed him sixth overall in the conference and his 0.38 aces per set ranked ninth. The sophomore's overall point production at 4.54 points per set was second-best in the MAC this season.

Earlier this season, Piontkowski broke two single-game records as he recorded a program-best 26 kills on 49 attempts, hitting .347 for the match, with another program-high of eight aces while adding eight digs in a five-set loss at Arcadia. The Nanticoke, Pa. native totaled double-digit kills in 18 of the Monarchs 26 matches while also adding two double-doubles in wins over Emerrson (2/19/22) and Misericordia (4/1/22).

Piontkowski adds the post-season honor to his weekly award as MAC Defensive Player of the Week on February 21, as well as his FrogJump Volleyball Team of the Week nod on February 8.

Messiah's Matt Knab earned MAC Player of the Year. Stevenson took home Defensive Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year in Mason Scott and Tim Flanagan, respecitvely. Stevens head coach Dan Buehring was tabbed Coach of the Year for the 2022 campaign as he rounded out the major award recipients.
