WILKES-BARRE, PA (September 22, 2022) -- The King's College football team looks to extend their new road win streak this Saturday, September 24 as they face the Devils of FDU-Florham in MAC play in Madison, NJ. The Monarchs are coming off a hard-fought 26-6 loss to #15 Delaware Valley in their home opener and on homecoming weekend. King's held the Aggies scoreless in the opening quarter, but 13 second-quarter points from the Aggies proved the difference in the loss. The Devils are also coming off a MAC contest where they fell, 17-10, to Lebanon Valley after giving up 14 second-quarter points, and they will be celebrating their homecoming weekend against the Monarchs on Saturday.

Spectator Policy
The Coaches: Jeff Knarr is in his 13th season (12th with a season) with the Monarchs, as he is only the second coach of King's College football since 1991. Knarr took over for Rich Mannello, who was the head coach since football was reinstated at King's in 1993. Today is the 113th game that Knarr has been the head coach of the Monarchs. Anthony Van Curen served in an interim role in 2021 and has been appointed as the head coach of the Devils in a full-time capacity in 2022. Under Van Curen, the Devils went 7-4 in 2021 and won the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) James Lynah Bowl for the first time in program history. Van Curen also coached a defensive unit in 2021 that saw lineman Kenny Hands
earn D3football.com All-America honors and ECAC Defensive Player of the Year accolades.
Looking at FDU-Florham: The Devils are coming off a tough home loss in their MAC opener to Lebanon Valley, falling 17-14. The Devils led at the half after scoring all 14 points in the second quarter, but 10 unanswered second half points from the Dutchmen proved the difference in the game. The Devils offense is led by Kwanir Edwards with 213 rushing yards at 71.00 yards per ame and 5.3 yards per carry. Quarterback TJ Brown has completed 64 passes on 99 attempts for a 64.65 completion percentage for 506 yards at 168.67 yards per game. Brown has connected with receiver Connor Perez 14 times thus far for 172 yards at 12.29 yards per reception and 57.33 yards a night. The Devils defensive efforts are led by Marquez Haywood with 20.0 total tackles, while Kenny Hands has posted 8.5 tackles for a loss of 52 yards, including 2.5 sacks for a loss of 34 yards.
Travel Gear: King's will be packing their white road jerseys and red pants with the classic gold helmet for their road trip to FDU-Florham on Saturday afternoon.
Single Digit Tough: The Monarchs award single digits based on merit, leadership and are retained throughout their time at King's. King's returned two single digit members from the 2021 season and added two more this past spring. This past week, the King's football program was proud to announce its most recent addition to the member of the Single Digit Tough group as they named senior defensive lineman
Dallas Solomon as a Single Digit Tough Monarch. The Monarchs now have five Single Digit Tough players:

Joe Herman and Gave Fattizzi, and representing special teams will be senior
Kyle Prescavage. For the defense, King's will send out senior
Dallas Solomon and junior
Alex Tristan.
A Look at the Monarchs:
- King's returns a core of leaders and role players on both sides of the football in 2022. For the offense, the Monarchs return All-MAC Second Team honoree in Brandon Cohen as he ranked as one of the top tight ends in the MAC, posting 28 catches for 213 yards and two touchdowns for an average of 21.30 yards per game. The defensive unit returns All-MAC First Team selection in Brendan Mozeleski as he ranked fifth in the conference with 83 total tackles for an average of 8.3 per contest. His 1.20 tackles for loss also rnaked ninth in the MAC last season.
- The Monarchs return 28 seniors on their roster, including seven who have returned for their fifth year of collegiate eligibility. Seventeen of those 28 are listed on this week's two-deep, including 13 projected as starters.
- King's comes into this year's season with a total of 11 coaches on staff, and of that group three are King's graduates (Ben Bakanas, Joe Damiano, Tommy Gilmore).
- King's was picked to finish eighth in the MAC Preseason Coaches Poll among the 11 conference schools. FDU-Florham was slated sixth.
- The Monarchs defense ranks third in the MAC holding opponents to 18.0 points per game, fourth in total yards per contest as they are limiting teams to 284.5 yards of offense, second in rushing defense as they are containing the run game to just 72.0 yards a game, and third in passing defensive efficiency at 104.8.
- King's special teams leads the MAC in kickoff yards as they average a net of 44.3.
- The return teams rank third in both kickoff returns at 22.1 yards per return and punt returns with 10.3 yards per attempt, led by Michael DiGregorio who currently sits at third in the MAC with an average of 22.8 yards per kickoff return and second at 10.3 yards per punt return.
- Tyler Moore ranks fourth in the MAC as he is averaging 17.0 yards per game, while Tyler Carey posts a conference third-best average of 63.5 receiving yards per contest.
- Kyle Prescavage ranks secondamong field goal kickers in the MAC as he has gone 3-for-4 for an average of 1.5 field goals per game. His successful 42-yard field goal attempt last weekend against Delaware Valley is also the second longest in the conference so far this season.
Up Next: The Monarchs will be on the road again next weekend as they travel to Williamsport, Pa. to take on the Warriors of Lycoming College. The MAC match up is set for a 1:00 p.m. kick off.
