GLASSBORO, NJ (October 14, 2023) -- In the field of 263, the King's College women's cross country team had a strong outing in their first meet in October at the 2023 Inter-Regional Border Battle. The 6,000-meter race, hosted by Rowan University, was held at DREAM Park in Glassboro, N.J.

Zoe Tomko was the first to cross for the Monarchs, finishing 85
th overall in 24:00.9, followed by
Julia Johnson who crossed in 24:56.2.
Cecilia Chipriano ran a strong race as she posted a personal-best time of 26:16.7, and
Mara Ryan rounded out the King's runners with a time of 30:52.8.

Emory's Brigid Hanley and Liesl Scherrer finished first and second, respectively, as Hanley ran a time of 21:27.2 and Scherrer crossed in 21:36.8. These efforts led Emory to a first-place team finish with 37 points.

King's will have two weeks to prepare for the upcoming 2023 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Championships on Saturday, October 28. The meet will be held at nearby Misericordia University's Letterkenny Fields with the women's race set to begin at 12:00 p.m.
