DALLAS, PA (October 28, 2023) -- Junior
Zoe Tomko collected her third consecutive All-Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) accolades as she finished 21
st overall to lead the King's College women's cross country team a the 2023 MAC Women's Cross Country Championships. The Monarchs finished 14
th overall with 327 points on the 6,000-meter course at Misericordia's Letterkenny Fields.
Tomko's time of 25:50.7 was good for 21
st overall in the field of 120 on Saturday afternoon, while
Julia Johnson placed in the top 50, finishing 43
rd in 27:05.0.
Cecilia Chipriano was next to finish for King's, recording a time of 32:05.5, while
Nicole Zambetti (32:45.6) and
Mara Ryan (35:34.6) rounded out the Monarch runners in the championship meet.
The host Misericordia won the team title with 43 points led by MAC Coach of the Year Chris Wadas. Gabrielle Nye was the individual champion and MAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Year, while Madison Kimmel from Messiah was tabbed MAC Rookie of the Year.
King's will set their sights on the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships set for Saturday, November 11. The meet will be hosted by Lock Haven University at the West Branch Cross Country Course in Lock Haven, Pa.
