PITTSTON, PA (November 11, 2023) --
Aaron Frenkel scored the first goal in the game and assisted in the final tally as the King's College men's ice hockey team rallied to defeat Neumann University, 3-1, on Saturday evening at the Revolution Ice Centre. The Monarchs improved to 2-4-0 overall and 2-2-0 in United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) play, while the Knights fall to 1-4-0 and 1-3-0 in the UCHC.

Frenkel put King's (2-4-0, 2-2-0 UCHC) on the board at the 5:41 mark on a power-play goal assisted by
Casey Gerstein and
Brendan Krawczyk, but neither team found the net the remainder of the period as the Monarchs maintained their 1-0 edge after the first 20 minutes of action.

Each team put up a quick goal to start the second, first by Neumann (1-4-0, 1-3-0 UCHC) 2:54 into the frame before the Monarchs responded with a
Kent Lee even-strength goal on a feed from
Ethan Hersant just six seconds later. The King's defense held off a comeback effort from the Knights in the period, and a score from
Jakub Viedemann assisted by Frenkel gave the Monarchs the much-needed insurance goal

Neither team could find the back of the net in the final period despite some great opportunities on both ends as King's secured the 3-1 win in the UCHC match up.

Frenkel led the way with a goal and an assist, while
Jayden Baldinelli posted a team-high three shots. Both
Brendan Krawczyk and Hersant posted double-digit face off wins as Krawczyk went 11-for-18 and Hersant posted a 10-for-17 effort. Defensively, both
Michael Harrel Jr. and Viedemann blocked two shots, while
Diego D'Alessandro recorded his first collegiate win in goal with 12 saves.

Luke Croucher scored, and Brady Mistler and Yancy Whitaker assisted in the loss for the Knights, while Cameron Hatziioannous posted a team-high five shots. Tyler Kulas led the face-off circle with 13 wins, while two different players blocked shots. Cole DeFazio picked up the loss while making 15 saves in goal.

As a team, the Monarchs recorded 18 shots and held the edge in face offs, 40-29 over the Knights. The King's defense blocked eight shots to just two for the Neumann as well in the win.

The Monarchs will take next weekend off before returning to play at home on Wednesday, November 22 as they host cross-town rival Wilkes University at 6:00 p.m.
