WILKES-BARRE, PA (NOVEMBER 11, 2023) -- The King's College men's and women's swimming teams dropped their Saturday tri-match against Wilkes and Stevenson at the Wyoming Valley CYC. The men fell to Wilkes with a score of 49-105 and Stevenson of 62-108. The women had a score against Wilkes 40-73 and Stevenson 19-152 for the afternoon.
Men's Swimming:
The squad found a second place finish in the 400-yard relay with a 4:31.44 finish that included
Christopher Maciejczyk (Fy.),
Chris Marriott (Fy.),
Blaze Graham (So.), and
Matthew Maciejczyk (Fy.).
Anthony Ursini (Sr.) placed third at 12:26.09 in the 1000-yard freestyle. Graham had a first place finish in the 100-yard butterfly at 59.72 for the Monarchs. In the 100-yard freestyle, Maciejczyk placed fifth with a time of 1:09.94, Marriott was right behind at 1:03.46.
Cody Zheng rounded King's with a 1:46.30 finish in the 100-yard freestyle.
Maciejczyk finished fourth in the 100-yard backstroke at 1:09.49. Ursini finished the individual events with taking third place at 5:59.96 in the 500-yard freestyle. The Monarchs ended the afternoon with a 400-yard relay at 4:00.60 that comprised of the Maciejczyk brothers, Ursini, and Graham.
Women's Swimming:
Roni McClelland (Jr.) took third in her first race with a time of 2:30.43 in the 200-yard freestyle. The Monarchs saw a second place finish by
Maddison Quick (Jr.) in the 50-yard freestyle at 28.03 and in the 100-yard freestyle carding a time of 1:00.42. In the 100-yard backstroke, Quick placed third with 1:12.25. In the 19
th and final individual event, McClelland had a time of 1:25.64 and placed fifth in the 100-yard backstroke.
King's are back in action on Saturday, November 18
th at the Wyoming Valley CYC. The time of the event and opponent are to be announced.
