COLMAR, PA (Dec. 2, 2023) - - The King's College men's ice hockey team dominated on the road against the Arcadia University Knight's to return to campus with a 6-1 win. This is the Monarchs' second win of the two-game United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) and Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) series against the Knights.
Alexander Ray led the Monarchs on both sides of the puck with two goals and seven blocks on the night. King's is now 4-6-0 overall this season and 4-4-0 in UCHC play.

After coming off a loss to the Monarchs in the night prior, the Knights came out with heavy pressure early in the game. This pressure continued throughout the first period from both teams, but the Knights were unable to hold off the Monarchs for the entirety of the period.
Alexander Ray found the back of the net with just under four and a half minutes left in the first period and was assisted by Sam Libetti and
Denys Arkhypenko. In what continued to be a physical period, Arcadia tried to take advantage of power play with 27 seconds left in the period, but King's was able to hold off the Knights a bit longer to end the first with a 1-0 lead.

The Monarchs continued to build on their momentum from the first period and scored within the first 3:30 minutes of play in the second thanks to
Kent Lee, who was assisted by
Ethan Hersant and
Aaron Frenkel. After more physical play costed King's another penalty, Arcadia was finally able to find the back of the net in power play with 9:42 remaining on the clock to tighten the gap to 2-1. Tensions continued to stay high after the Knight's goal as a fight broke out in the Monarchs' attacking end of the ice that led to Arcadia being penalized and giving King's a 5-3 advantage in power play to end the second and a 5-4 advantage to start the third period.

Despite being unable to find the net during the 5-3 power play advantage, Hersant wasted no time at the start of the final period to score the Monarch's third goal of the night unassisted just 27 seconds into play. King's continued to build on this offensive momentum and scored three more in the first five minutes of the third period all within power play.
Casey Gerstein scored 3:09 into the period and was assisted by Arkhypenko and Lee, while Ray scored his second of the night just 50 seconds later, only this time was unassisted. Frenkel joined the movement just under five minutes with an unassisted goal as well, putting King's up 6-1 by the end of power play with 13 minutes left in the game. The remainder of the game continued to be intense and penalty-filled, but King's defense continued to hold off the Knights' offense and ultimately win the game 6-1.

Hersant led the Monarchs in faceoff wins collecting 15 on the night, while Ray also tabbed nine. On defense, Ray also led with seven blocks and was followed by Hersant with 4.
Diego D'Alessandro dominated in goal with 38 saves and a .974 save percentage.

King's will return to the ice next week on Dec. 9 at Stevenson University for a UCHC and MAC matchup at 4:30 pm on the Mustangs' home ice, Reisterstown Sportsplex.
