REISTERSTOWN, MD (Dec. 9, 2023) - - King's College men's ice hockey lost on the road 7-0 to the Stevenson University Mustangs this afternoon at the Reisterstown Sportsplex in its last United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) match up of 2023. 

The Monarchs went head-to-head with the Mustangs in the opening minutes of the first period before Stevenson scored its first goal of the day 7:43 minutes in and just three minutes later followed up with its second goal. King's was able to hold off Stevenson for nearly seven more minutes until the Mustangs found the back of the net again with 17:10 on the clock and finished the first period with a 3-0 lead over the Monarchs. 

King's played a strong defensive second period and prevented Stevenson from building onto its lead. Tyler Sayger had 10 saves in goal to help the Monarchs slow the Mustangs and keep them at a 3-0 lead in the second period. Unfortunately the Monarchs could not hold off the Mustangs for much longer as they scored four more goals in the final 20 minutes of play. Stevenson ultimately took the win with a final score of 7-0.

The Monarchs take the ice again in the new year on Jan. 2, 2024 on the road again at Trinity University in Hartford, CT, at 7:30 pm for a nonconference game.
