ANNVILLE, PA (February 20, 2023) -- For the fourth consecutive week, the King's College men's volleyball team claimed the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Defensive Player of the Week. On Monday morning, senior middle hitter Sam Capwell was named the MAC Defensive Player of the Week for his performance on Saturday afternoon.

The Bethlehem, Pa. native earns his second conference weekly award of the season. Capwell totaled 17 blocks at 2.13 blocks per set while adding 10 kills and three digs for 20 points. In a thrilling 3-2 comeback win over New Jersey City to start the weekend, Capwell posted eight blocks with five kills and three digs before tallying nine blocks with five kills in a 3-0 win over Drew.

This is Capwell's second weekly award for the 2023 season and the third in his career as he picked up the accolade on February 17, 2020. He also brings in the bid for the fourth straight week as first year Owen McFadden earned the last two weekly honors as well.
