WILKES-BARRE, PA (April 15, 2023) -- On Saturday morning, the King's College women's lacrosse team fell, 20-1, to #24 Stevens Institute of Technology at McCarthy Stadium in Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) play. With the loss, the Monarchs drop to 2-10 overall and 1-3 in the conference, while the Ducks improve to 12-1 with a perfect 5-0 conference mark.

Stevens (12-1, 5-0 MAC Freedom) tallied 11 goals in the first quarter and cruised from there, tallying three more in the second to take a 14-0 lead heading into the break.

After two more Duck goals to start the third, King's (2-10, 1-3 MAC Freedom) got on the board with 2:50 left in the quarter thanks to a driving effort from
Ashley Dias to see the Monarchs trail, 16-1. The Ducks put up three more goals in the fourth on their way to the 20-1 final in the MAC Freedom contest in McCarthy Stadium.

Dias tallied a point with her unassisted goal on her lone shot in the game, while
Chloe Burke tallied two shots with a draw control.
Sidney Bush was awarded the loss while making seven saves in the first half, and
Jessie Smalley was solid in the second as she made one save.

Zoe Cook led the Ducks with four goals for four points on four shots, while Camryn Rogers led the way with seven draw controls to go along with three points on two goals and an assist off a team-high five shots. Lauren Cunniff earned the win as the starter, allowing no goals, while Erica Strojny picked up a save for the Ducks.

As a team, the Monarchs tallied eight saves, forced eight turnovers, successfully made eight clears, and picked up eight ground balls.

The Monarchs will hit the road on Wednesday for an important MAC Freedom contest at Lycoming College. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m. in Williamsport, Pa.
