WILLIAMSPORT, PA (April 19, 2023) -- The King's College women's lacrosse team fell in their road Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) contest, dropping an 18-4 decision at Lycoming College on Wednesday night. With the loss, the Monarchs fall to 2-11 overall and 1-4 in conference play, while the Warriors improve to 8-5 with a 4-1 conference mark.

Lycoming (8-5, 4-1 MAC Freedom) opener the scoring with a 4-0 spurt that saw the Warriors leading with 4:03 to go in the first, but King's (2-11, 1-4 MAC Freedom) had an answer, scoring two within 38 seconds of each other.
Kyleigh Dunworth netted the pair, both unassisted, first on a man-up opportunity with 1:28 to go in the period, then again with 50 ticks to go. The Warriors would have the final say in the frame as they scored as time expired to hold a 5-1 edge after one.

Grace Venis for a tally with 13:11 left in the half to close within 6-2. Lycoming would go on a tear, scoring nine unanswered goals with the final mark coming with 6:30 to go in the third.
Chloe Burke would find the back of the next with 4:21 remaining in the period, but the hosts scored three more to end the game and hand King's the 18-4 road loss in MAC Freedom play.

Dunworth led the Monarchs with two points on two goals off five shots, while Burke picked up a point on a team-high six shots with three draw controls.
Ashley Dias led King's with three ground balls, four caused turnovers, and three draw controls.
Sidney Bush picked up the loss in the complete-game while making eight saves in net.

Riley Block led Lycoming with seven points on six goals and an assist, while Alexa Baldwin tallied seven points on five assists and a pair of goals. Zoe Stauffer went the distance and earned the win in goal with eight saves.

The Monarchs will return to McCarthy Stadium on Saturday afternoon as they are set to host DeSales University in MAC Freedom play. The game is set to begin at 5:00 p.m. as King's will also be celebrating senior day prior to the contest.
