MADISON, NJ (April 5, 2023) --- The King's College women's lacrosse team fell on the road to host FDU-Florham 19-5 on Wednesday afternoon in Madison, NJ. With the loss King's falls to 2-9 overall and 1-2 in conference play, while FDU-Florham improves to 4-7 overall and 2-1 MAC action.

King's (2-9, 1-2) opened the scoring at 10:34 as sophomore
Kyleigh Dunworth put the Monarchs up 1-0. FDU-Florham responded just 11 seconds later, tying the game at one, before jumping in front 2-1 at 7:45. The Monarchs answered at 6:28, when sophomore
Chloe Burke finished off a pass from fellow sophomore
Alli Lindsay, knotting the game at two. The Devils tallied the next three goals, before first-year
Sarah Schultz capitalized on a feed from Lindsay to make it 5-3 with 1:15 left in the quarter. FDU tallied one more goal late in the frame to take a 6-3 lead after one.

The Devils extended the lead early in the second quarter, before Lindsay found the back of the cage herself at 12:37, cutting the deficit to 7-4. Once again FDU tallied a goal, but King's answered as sophomore
Grace Venis connected on a free position shot at 9:35, as FDU led 8-5.

From that moment on, however, FDU took control, ending the first half scoring the final four goals. The Devils continued their run in the second half, tallying five goals in the third quarter, before adding two more goals in the fourth quarter to come away with the 19-5 victory.

Junior
Sidney Bush started in the cage and notched nine saves. Lindsay led the Monarch attack, tallying three points on one goal and two assists, while Dunworth, Burke, Venis, and Schultz all added one goal. King's collected 10 of 27 draws, as Lindsay corralled three draws, while Dunworth and Burke controlled two. The Monarchs also forced five turnovers, as Lindsay, Burke, senior
Vivian Williams, and sophomores
Harley Sabol and
Gabby Lucchesi all forced one a piece.

Alison Kozik got the start in goal and finished with five saves. Lizzy Escudero paced the FDU attack recording 11 points on five goals and give assists. The Devils controlled 17 draws, while forcing the Monarchs into 10 turnovers.

King's will have a week and a half off before hosting Stevens Institute of Technology on April 15 at 1 p.m. at McCarthy Stadium.
