WILKES-BARRE, PA (August 4, 2023) -- A familiar face from King's College athletics will join the athletic department staff ahead of the 2023-24 academic year as Director of Sports Performance Nate Estes announced on Friday afternoon that Charles McCall will serve as the Assistant of Sports Performance.

"We are excited to have Charles on the staff as a full-time graduate assistant," stated Estes. "Charles proved to be an asset to the program during his internship this past spring. I am excited to see Charles continue to develop as a professional, and I am looking forward to having him in the weight room more often this year."

McCall is a 2023 graduate of King's College with a degree in exercise science and a minor in psychology. He spent the Spring 2023 semester as an intern in the Intermetro Wellness Center at King's where he aided in creating multi-step training programs for collegiate athletes as well as demonstrated proper technique, mobility, and stability to ensure athlete development.

McCall was a true example of what it meant to be a King's graduate as the Sicklerville, N.J. native served as a three-year Single Digit Tough member of the Monarchs football program. A two-time All-Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Second Team selection and All-MAC Honorable Mention honoree, McCall recorded 202 tackles across 35 career games while adding 21 tackles for loss, 11 sacks, six pass deflections, three forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, and two interceptions.

"I am extremely excited to return to King's and work with the sports performance department," said McCall.

Outside of Wilkes-Barre, McCall also worked for Professional Physical Therapy where he assisted with physical therapy regiments and for Creative Minds Academy where he helped teach and supervise children from ages seven and older.

McCall will assist Estes with daily operations in the Intermetro Wellness Center and coordinate strength training plans for several of our varsity athletic programs at King's.
