Women’s Soccer Blanked in MAC Freedom Matchup Against Misericordia

DALLAS, PA (October 18, 2024) -- The King's College women's soccer team moves to 3-7-4, 2-1-0 MAC Freedom after losing 6-0 to Misericordia at Mangelsdorf Field Friday night. The Cougars will move to 11-1-2, 3-0-0 MAC Freedom with the win.

The Cougars got on the board early as Madison Brdaric scored off an assist from Julia Beck less than one minute into play. The two swapped roles for the following goal as Brdaric delivered the assist to Beck for the second goal in the 10th minute. Haleigh Wintersteen extended the Misericordia lead to 3-0 two minutes later with another assist from Brdaric. A late, unassisted goal by Sabrina Competiello rounded out the half and sent the teams to halftime with the Cougars leading 4-0.

In minute 66 of the second half, Esabella Mendola made it 5-0 off an assist from Brenna Field. Nikki Bell scored in the last minute of play with an assist from Sarah Kowalski to seal the deal for Misericordia.

Through 90 minutes, King's had six total shots with two being on goal and junior goalkeeper Ashlyn Crawford finished the night with ten saves.

King's is back in action next Tuesday, October 22 as they host Lebanon Valley College at McCarthy Stadum at 7 p.m.
