READING, PA (October 26,2024) -- The King's College women's volleyball team fell to the Lions of Albright 3-0 in Bollman Center on Saturday afternoon.

The hosts had an early 9-0 lead to start the first set. The Monarchs (16-8) would pester Albright (16-6), but the Lions had control the rest of the way. King's made a final 4-1 push that included
Madisyn Heiser-Elsea (So.),
Milena Oberle (Fy.), and
Morgan Williams (Jr.) before falling 25-12 to Albright.

The Lions maintained their momentum in the second set. The score was 17-9 when the Monarchs began to revolt back and create an 8-3 run that comprised of tallies by
Mia Campanile (Jr.),
Lindsay Arezina (So.), and Heiser-Elsea to get within three. Though Albright remained victorious with a final set score of 25-19.

King's came out strong in the third and final set with a 5-3 lead thanks to
Jessica Menze (Fy.) and
Antonia Leary (Fy.). The Lions came right back shortly after with a 14-6 jolt to create a steady cushion away from the Monarchs. King's was down 17-11 when the squad created a final 7-3 jolt that included
Hannah Swinsburg (Fy.) Oberle, and
Riley McArdle (Fy.). Albright was able to outlast the Monarchs efforts and win 25-19.

Oberle set a standard of seven kills for King's.
Ashley Webber (Fy.) dished out nine assists and
Keely Hoban (Sr.) had eight. Williams paced the defense with 14 digs.

The Lions' Neve Straff produced 12 kills and Paola Mejias passed out 30 helpers. On the defensive end, Winniffer Rodriguez collected 11 digs.

The Monarchs will have their final home game with a Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom contest against Stevens on Tuesday, October 29
th at 7 p.m. The team will be back on the road on Saturday, November 2
nd at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. to take on Medgar Evers and Rutgers-Newark.
