Women’s Soccer Downed by Stevens on the Road

HOBOKEN, NJ (October 30, 2024) -- The King's College women's soccer team moves to 3-9-5, 2-3-1 MAC Freedom after falling 7-0 to Stevens Institute of Technology on Wednesday night at DeBaun Athletic Complex. The Ducks will improve to 10-4-2, 6-0-0 MAC Freedom with the win.

King's head coach Kristina Keithley switched up the starting lineup for the road contest, handing defenders Mackenzie Seeley and Leigha Fostveit their first starts of the season. First-year goalkeeper Courtney Monard stayed in goal for the Monarchs.

After a long possession in King's defensive zone to begin the first half, Stevens' Sophia Murphy scored the first goal of the night in minute seven following a corner kick. After a foul was called on Taryn Conover, Lauren Alley scored a penalty kick goal for the Ducks to make it 2-0 in minute 23. The third and final goal in the first half came from Alina Fritz with an assist from Molly McCann in minute 40. The Ducks led the Monarchs 3-0 going into halftime.

Stevens scored four more goals in the second half as Nicole Angelini had two and Kaitlyn Pettit and Sarah Wnorowski each had one. A yellow card was issued to Jenna Waldbillig in minute 75.
King's is back in action on Saturday, November 2 as they travel to Center Valley, PA to take on DeSales at 12 p.m. for the final game of the regular season.
