WILKES-BARRE, PA (November 2, 2024) -- The King's College men's swim team hosted the Devils of FDU-Florham (2-1) in Scandlon Natatorium on Saturday afternoon. The Monarchs (1-6) came up short and fell to the Devils 93-86.
 
In the individual events, Christopher Maciejczyk took second at 13:10.97 and Matthew Maciejczyk was right behind in third at 13:44.80 in the 1000-yard freestyle. During the 200-yard freestyle, Austin Morris clocked in at 2:04.86 for second place, Noah Dunbar took the third spot at 2:12.12, and David Guillen-Duran rounded the Monarchs with a time of 2:37.84. Chris Marriott brought home a second place finish in the 50-yard freestyle at 27.27, while Christopher Maciejczyk was in fourth at 27.72 and Cody Zheng timing in at 34.16. In the 200-yard IM Billy Hanson finished in second at 2:27.83 and Jimmy Ardito clocked in at 2:51.68 for third.
 
Dunbar was a first place finisher at 1:04.80 in the 100-yard butterfly. Marriott came in at 1:12.06 for third and Ardito ended at 1:32.54. In the 100-yard freestyle, Hanson tabbed another second place finish at 58.49 and Zheng followed up with a time of 1:20.07 for fourth. Morris clocked in at 1:05.06 to take the second spot in the 100-yard backstroke and Christopher Maciejczyk was right behind with a time of 1:09.42. The 500-yard freestyle had Morris in second at 6:06.95, Matthew Maciejczyk in third at 6:24.75, and Dunbar rounding the group at 6:50.32. The 100-yard breaststroke was the final individual event of the meet and King's had Hanson take second at 1:15.44, Marriott behind at 1:18.49, and Guillen-Duran finishing at 1:38.75.
 
In the team events, the Monarch relay team of Matthew Maciejczyk, Guillen-Duran, Ardito, and Zheng clocked in at 2:22.84 in the 200-yard medley. The A relay team of Hanson, Ardito, Guillen-Duran, and Morris came in at 1:49.39 in the 200-yard freestyle, while the B relay team of Marriott, Zheng, Christopher Maciejczyk, and Dunbar timed in at 1:58.24.
 
King's will be back in the pool on Saturday, November 9^th at 1 p.m. to take on Wilkes and Stevenson at the Wyoming Valley CYC. The squad will return home on Friday, November 15^th at 5:30 p.m. to battle Lebanon Valley.
