Morris Picks Up Second Place Finish in Loss to Wilkes and Stevenson

WILKES-BARRE, PA (November 9, 2024) -- The King's College men's swim team fell to Wilkes (5-1) 152-62 and were dropped by Stevenson (4-2) 174-60 at the Wyoming Valley CYC on Saturday afternoon.
 
Cody Zheng was the first to compete in the individual events for the Monarchs (1-8) with a time of 2:56.05 in the 200-yard freestyle. Austin Morris notched a second place finish in the 100-yard backstroke at 1:03.07, while Christopher Maciejczyk came in at 1:08.93 and Jimmy Ardito at 1:16.96. In the 100-yard breaststroke was Billy Hanson at 1:13.89 and Chris Marriott at 1:17.19. Morris placed sixth in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.19, Matthew Maciejczyk clocked in at 27.76, and Zheng rounded the squad at 34.03.
 
In the 100-yard freestyle, Noah Dunbar came in at 57.31, Ardito at 1:05.20, and Zheng at 1:18.34. Christopher Maciejczyk had a time of 2:30.71 in the 200-yard backstroke. Marriott finished the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:50.79. The Maciejczyk brothers battled in the 500-yard freestyle, Christopher Maciejczyk clocked in at 6:30.41 and Matthew Maciejczyk was right behind at 6:36.51. Dunbar had a time of 1:05.10 in the 100-yard butterfly. In the final individual event, Hanson finished fourth in the 200-yard IM at 2:27.55 and Ardito came in at 2:52.10.
 
King's had Morris, Hanson, Dunbar, and Marriott compete in the 200-yard medley relay and the squad finished third at 1:56.36. The Monarchs sent two teams to battle in the 200-yard freestyle relay. Relay team A that consisted of Marriott, Dunbar, Hanson, and Morris finished fourth at 1:45.13. Relay team B finished fifth at 2:02.11 with Christopher Maciejczyk, Ardito, Zheng, and Matthew Maciejczyk.
 
King's will return home on Friday, November 15th at 5:30 p.m. to take on Lebanon Valley. The squad will battle in the Electric City Invitational that is hosted by Marywood from Friday, November 22nd to Sunday, November 24th.
