CENTER VALLEY, PA (April 13, 2024) -- The King's College women's lacrosse team fell to DeSales 19-3 on Saturday afternoon. The Monarchs are now 1-12 overall and 0-4 in Middle Atlantic Conference play.

The Bulldogs (10-2, 3-0 MAC Freedom)Â controlled the contest from the jump at DeSales Turf Fields with five straight goals in the first five minutes of the opening quarter. King's held on and after a save by
Sidney Bush (Sr.),
Gabby Lucchesi (Jr.) pushed the ball up the field in transition to
Chloe Burke (Jr.) who found
Ashley Dias (Jr.) for a Monarch goal at 5:53. DeSales answered back quickly with four more goals to end the first quarter ahead 9-1.

The second and third quarter was much like first as DeSales continued their edge by finding the back of the net multiple times. Heading into the fourth quarter King's were down 18-1.

The fourth quarter started off strong for the Monarchs with a draw control win by
Maria Schneider (So.). The defense pushed through and
Alyssa Reeber (Fy.) produced a save to give her squad an offensive opportunity. King's were a player-up when Burke found Dias once again for another tally on the scoreboard at 10:45. The Bulldogs responded back with their own goal at 7:39. The Monarchs were not going down without a fight and after four minutes, Dias found the back of the net at 4:23 for a hat trick thanks to an assist by
Kyleigh Dunworth (Jr.). From then on, the game was scoreless and at the final buzzer King's lost 19-3.

Dias was the lone scorer with three goals. Burke had two assists, two ground balls, and four draw control wins to help her reach a milestone of 100 career draw control wins. Schneider collected three draw control wins. Lucchesi picked up four ground balls and one caused turnover. In net, Bush produced nine saves and Reeber had six.

DeSales' Jess Brey led the team with four goals, six draw control wins, and one assist. Danielle Sieja had six ground balls, four caused turnovers, two goals, and two assists. Michaela Regan earned one save and Nicole Minelli came up with two saves in net.

The Monarchs will be back on home turf on Wednesday, April 17
th at 7 p.m. to take on FDU-Florham. The squad will finish the regular season on the road against Misericordia on Saturday, April 20
th at 7 p.m. and will battle Arcadia at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, April 24
th.
