WILKES-BARRE, PA (April 24, 2024) -- The King's College men's lacrosse team battled the Knights of Arcadia for their last home game at McCarthy Stadium on Wednesday night. The Monarchs lost 19-2 to the Knights in their Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom matchup.

Arcadia controlled the contest from the start with a 5-0 run in the first eight minutes of play. After a timeout by King's (2-11, 1-5 MAC Freedom), the squad held on strong and took advantage of a player-up opportunity with
Brendan Dennis (Fy.) finding
Ben Spencer (Jr.) at 3:22 to get on the board. Yet the Knights answered back with minute left to go of the first quarter and took a 6-1 lead.

Arcadia continued their momentum in the second quarter by scoring seven points, even when the Monarchs pestered them by causing several turnovers and shot clock violations. King's got into enemy territory, looking to create an edge, but their visitors had every answer. The Knights were able to hold King's scoreless and entered halftime with a 13-1 cushion.

After intermission, Arcadia continued to widen their lead with a 3-0 run. At 3:43, King's won a faceoff after a violation from the Knights and the Monarchs found the back of the net at 1:50 with Spencer getting his second goal of the evening. Though the Knights gained another tally in the last 10 second of the third quarter.

The fourth and final quarter was much like the second and Arcadia scored two more goals before the final buzzer. King's fell 19-2.

Spencer ended with two goals on five shots with two ground balls.
Geno Casceillo (Sr.) picked up four ground balls and
Chris O'Mara (So.) had two caused turnovers.
Jackson Campbell (Sr.) collected 14 saves for the evening and tabbed a career milestone of 300 saves.

The Knights witnessed Lukas Santore record seven points with four goals and three assists. Tristan Johnson added his own four goals to the stat sheet. Brett Sciascia picked up five ground balls and went 9-12 in faceoffs. In net, Joseph Tesler had seven saves and Nathaniel Hudgins was right behind with five of his own.

The Monarchs will finish out the season with a road game against Delaware Valley on Saturday, April 27
th at 1 p.m.
