WILKES-BARRE, PA (August 27, 2024) -- As the Fall 2024 semester is underway on campus, the King's College athletic department is pleased to announce that Elena Andreyev joins the staff for another year as the Assistant to the Athletic Director and Director of Field Hockey Operations.

Andreyev spent the Spring 2024 semester at King's in a similar capacity, assisting Associate Vice President and Executive Director of Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreation Cheryl Ish with managing budgets, overseeing schedules for facilities and athletic events, and participating in strategic planning meetings and initiatives. She also compiled files to maintain rosters and track compliance for all of our Monarch student-athletes.

Outside of her daily tasks, Andreyev was very involved in community service opportunities at King's, attending the 10-week Special Olympics basketball practices, the National Read Across America Day event, and the National Girls and Women in Sport Day (NGWSD) Clinic.

A 2022 graduate of Wagner College with a degree in business administration, majoring in management and minoring in economics, Andreyev was a Dean's List honoree and earned NEC Fall Academic Honor Roll, NFHCA National Academic Squad, and NFHCA Scholar of Distinction recognition. A midfielder and defender for the Wagner field hockey team, Andreyev appeared in 29 games, making 21 starts, and was a two-time team captain in her time as an inaugural member of the Seahwaks field hockey program.

Additionally, Andreyev served as the Wagner Marketing and Management Club President and completed an internship with the athletics department, assisting the athletic director with administrative duties.

After graduation, Andreyev joined the field hockey coaching staff at East Stroudsburg University as a graduate assistant, completing her master's degree in management and leadership in organizational behavior. While on the staff, the Warriors claimed the 2022 NCAA Division II National Championship title, finished as the 2023 NCAA Division II runner-up, captured two PSAC Championships, and earned both NFHCA Atlantic Region DII and NFHCA DII National Coaching Staff of the Year honors.

Alongside her time in the athletic department, Andreyev has been added to the King's field hockey coaching staff as the Director of Field Hockey Operations this season, and she has been actively involved with the BRAVE Athletics, a local organization dedicated to empowering and supporting female athletes in their journey to become the best version of themselves through sport.

Andreyev has already begun her duties in Wilkes-Barre and can be seen supporting our Monarch student-athletes throughout the 2024-25 academic year.
