MADISON, NJ (September 7, 2024) – The King's College women's soccer team tied Drew University 1-1 in the first game at Drew's Fall Festival this weekend. With the draw, the Monarchs move to 1-1-2 overall with Drew now 1-1-1 on the season.
The Rangers got on the board early with a goal by Maeve O'Murchu off an assist from Alexa Krause in the third minute of play. Both teams combined for seven shots and seven fouls throughout the remainder of the half and Drew led King's 1-0 going into halftime.
Following a corner kick from Drew's Rebecca Racine start the second half,
Maya Parker took a shot that went wide,
Taryn Conover took a corner kick for the Monarchs and then senior captain
Leah Sankey scored her second goal of the season in the 51
st minute of play.
Neither team was able to capitalize on offensive opportunities through the rest of the half, ending with the final score of 1-1. Junior goalkeeper
Ashlyn Crawford secured her second start of the season in net for the Monarchs, recording six total saves on the afternoon.
King's is back tomorrow for an 1:30 p.m. kickoff against Stockton University at Ranger Field.
