MADISON, NJ (September 8, 2024) – The King's College women's soccer team fell 3-0 to Stockton University in their second game of the weekend at Drew University's Fall Festival. The Monarchs are now 1-2-2 overall with Stockton moving to 2-2-1 on the season.
Stockton got the ball rolling early as Rylee Getter took a shot 31 seconds into play that ended up going wide, but the Ospreys followed up minutes later with a goal from Erica Dietz in the third minute of play.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Kelsey Sorensen secured her first start of the season in net for the Monarchs, recording three saves and allowing one goal before being subbed out as
Ashlyn Crawford came to replace her in the 23
rd minute.
From here, Stockton put another goal on the board with Logan Shaw scoring off an assist from Megan Morris. Both teams combined for eighteen shots and nine fouls throughout the remainder of the half and Stockton led King's 2-0 going into halftime.
King's had five corner kicks in the second half compared to Stockton's three, but were unable to convert. Another Osprey goal by Getter extended the lead to 3-0 in minute 79. The Monarchs would not go down without putting up a fight through the last ten minutes of play as

Megan Thompson and
Maryanna Garcia all tallied shots, ending with a corner kick by Garcia at 89:44.
Leah Sankey led the Monarchs with three shots as the Monarchs fell to the Ospreys of Stockton University 3-0 Sunday afternoon.
King's is back in action this Wednesday, September 11 as they host Wilkes University at 7 p.m. at McCarthy Stadium.
