CENTER VALLEY, PA (January 15, 2025) -- In a Wednesday night Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) match up at DeSales University, the King's College men's basketball team fell, 101-74, in Center Valley. With the loss, the Monarchs fall to 6-6 overall and 1-2 in the conference, while the Bulldogs improve to 8-6 and 2-1 in the MAC Freedom.

DeSales (8-6, 2-1 MAC Freedom) came out hot, opening the game with a 13-0 run before a pair of free throws from
Garrett Burys with 16:03 to go in the half put King's (6-6, 1-2 MAC Freedom) on the board. The Monarchs found their groove, closing within six, 21-15, on a layup from
Jawane Buckner with 12:03 to play, but the Bulldogs regained their lead and kept King's at bay. Late in the half, another pair from the charity stripe from Burys cut the deficit to five, 38-33, with 4:26 remaining, but an 8-4 run by DeSales down the stretch saw the Monarchs trialing, 46-37, at the break.

The teams traded scores to open the second half before the Bulldogs scored seven unanswered points to rebuild their advantage and never looked back as King's dropped the 101-74 final in Center Valley on Wednesday night.

Chris Patton led King's with 17 points, two steals, and a block, while
Sean Forrest came off the bench to score 16. Buckner put up 10 points to go along with five assists, and
Ray Gooley collected six points and dished out three helpers in the setback.

Caleb Gibbs led the Bulldogs with 20 points, 19 rebounds, four assists, two steals, and a block.

The Monarch defense forced 13 Bulldog turnovers in the MAC Freedom contest, while the bench outscored DeSales, 40-30.

King's will look to get back into the win column on Saturday afternoon as they travel to Hoboken, N.J. for a match up with Stevens. Tip off in the MAC Freedom contest is set for 1:00 p.m.
