Late Stevenson Goal Hands Monarchs 1-0 Loss

PITTSTON, PA (January 18, 2025) – The King's College men's ice hockey team fell 1-0 to the Stevenson University Mustangs on Saturday night at the Revolution Ice Centre. With the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) loss, the Monarchs move to 4-11-1, 2-9-1 in conference play while the Mustangs improve to 9-5-2, 6-4-2. Stevenson scored in the final 20 seconds of regulation to spoil the hopes of a second-straight overtime opportunity with the Mustangs.

A slew of penalties occurred through the three periods of play as Jayden Baldinelli was called for boarding at 5:27 in the first, Patrick Nowak for cross checking at 13:30 in the first, Nick Dineen for interference at 10:41 in the second, Jack Meloff for hitting from behind at 12:25 in the second and Evan Beers for interference at 10:39 in the third.

The lone goal scored at 19:40 in the third period came from Graeme McCrory with an assist from Beers. Mikey Harrel Jr., Erik Hegyi and Kent Lee each tallied two blocks as sophomore goaltender Diego D'Alessandro had 33 saves in net.

The Monarchs will hit the road and head to Arcadia University for a 3:30 p.m. puck drop on Saturday, January 25.
