Women's Soccer Plays to 0-0 Draw Against FDU-Florham

MADISON, NJ (October 11, 2025) – The King's College women's soccer team played to a scoreless draw against FDU-Florham on Saturday afternoon. The result moves the Monarchs to 4-7-2 overall and 0-1-1 in MAC Freedom play, while the Devils now sit at 5-5-3 and 0-1-1 in the conference.

The opening 20 minutes featured several defensive stands for the Monarchs as FDU-Florham pressed early, forcing sophomore goalkeeper Courtney Monard into a pair of saves in the 10th and 15th minutes. The Devils nearly broke the tie in the 17th when Riley Northridge hit the right post, but Monard and the King's back line stayed composed to keep the game scoreless.

King's saw its first real chance in the 29th minute when Mackenzie Seeley fired a low shot to the left post, but FDU's keeper made the save to preserve the deadlock. Both teams traded fouls and corners late in the half, with the Monarchs earning back-to-back corner opportunities in the 41st and 42nd minutes before the halftime whistle.

The second half began with more pressure from the Devils, who tallied three shots on goal in the first 20 minutes, but Monard remained steady between the posts, collecting her fifth and sixth saves of the afternoon.

King's found momentum midway through the half as Taryn Conover sent a long shot just over the bar in the 72nd minute, followed by chances from Madison Jellema and Isabella Pacia inside the final 15 minutes of play.

Despite several late corners from FDU, the Monarch defense—anchored by Amelia Sarni, Karissa Coleman, and Caitlin Kirk—held firm to record the shutout.

FDU-Florham outshot King's, 17-4, including an 8-1 advantage in shots on goal, while also holding a 6-3 edge in corner kicks.

Monard recorded eight saves in net for the Monarchs to earn her fourth shutout of the season. Seeley, Conover, Jellema, and Pacia each registered a shot for King's in the draw.

King's women's soccer returns to action on Saturday, October 18, when they head to Delaware Valley University for a conference matchup with the Aggies at 4:00 PM.
