Women's Volleyball Sweeps Tri-Match at Penn State Hazleton

HAZLETON, PA (October 18, 2025) – The King's College women's volleyball team earned two dominant victories on the road Saturday, sweeping both Penn State Mont Alto and Penn State Hazleton to improve to 13–8 overall. The Monarchs did not drop a set across the two matches, showcasing strong serving, balanced offense, and steady defense throughout the day.

Match 1: King's 3, Penn State Mont Alto 0 (25–17, 25–21, 25–19)
King's opened the day with a tough fought win over Mont Alto, jumping ahead early and never looking back. Madisyn Heiser-Elsea and Lindsay Arezina dominated on offense in the opening frame as King's took care of business 25–17.

The Monarchs continued to control the tempo in the second and third sets, using crisp passing and efficient ball movement to stay in rhythm. Ariela Towsey and Izzy Deluco orchestrated an attack that kept Mont Alto off balance, while Morgan Williams anchored the back row with strong coverage.

King's finished the match with 45 kills and a .198 hitting percentage. Arezina and Heiser-Elsea led the attack with 10 kills each, Mia Campanile added eight kills, and Emma Bolich chipped in seven. Deluco had a 16 assist and 18 dig double double and Towsey had 14 assists of her own, while Williams recorded 14 digs on defense.

Match 2: King's 3, Penn State Hazleton 0 (25–20, 25–21, 25–16)
The Monarchs carried their momentum into the afternoon, battling in another sweep, this time over Penn State Hazleton. King's used aggressive serving and fast-paced offense to keep the Nittany Lions away from start to finish.

Campanile paced the attack with 10 kills, while Arezina added nine. Deluco guided the offense with 16 assists and four aces, while Towsey was right there with 15 assists and four aces of her own. Deluco also led the defense with 10 digs, giving her another double double. Hannah Swinsburg contributed 5 kills while Heiser-Elsea came through with two blocks.

With the two sweeps, the Monarchs improve to 13–8 on the season and will look to build off the pair of wins when they return to MAC Freedom play on Wednesday, October 22, traveling to face Stevens at 7:00 p.m. in Hoboken, NJ.
