WILKES-BARRE, PA (October 25, 2025) -- The King's College field hockey team played their final home matchup of the season on Saturday, falling 3-0 to DeSales University in a MAC Freedom contest. With the result, the Monarchs now stand at 1-15 and 0-5 in conference play while the Bulldogs improve to 7-9 overall and 3-2 in the MAC Freedom.

Elizabeth Samuel and
Emily Bollinger.
After a scoreless first, DeSales found the back of the net halfway through the second quarter on a penalty stroke from the Bulldogs' Morgan Benner to take a 1-0 lead.

Emily Bollinger had a busy first half in the cage, collecting eight saves as the Bulldogs fired 18 shots in the first 30 minutes of play. The Monarch backline held strong with Bollinger, racking up five blocked shots in the opening half.
DeSales added a pair of goals in the third, bringing their lead to 3-0. The first came after a pair of Bollinger saves, with the second save falling just in front of the cage for the Bulldogs to capitalize on. The second goal came on a deflected shot at the top of the crease that just slipped past the King's defense.
The Monarchs provided some pressure late, generating a penalty corner and one shot but were unable to find the back of the net as DeSales held on for the 3-0 win.
Murray led the Monarchs with one shot while Bollinger tallied eleven saves, tying her career-high in her 60 minutes in the cage.
King's field hockey returns to action on Wednesday, October 29, as the Monarchs travel to Glenside, PA to take on Arcadia University at 3:00 PM.
