SELINSGROVE, PA (November 14, 2025)— The King's College men's basketball team fell to Susquehanna University in the first round of the Susquehanna Tip-Off Tournament on Friday night, dropping a 96-60 decision at O.W. Houts Gymnasium. The Monarchs fall to 1-2 overall, while the River Hawks improve to 2-0 on the season.
King's trailed early as Susquehanna converted points in the paint and off turnovers, building a 12-5 lead in the opening minutes.
Ben Rodner-Tims helped the Monarchs stay within range with a pair of jumpers and a fast-break assist, bringing the score to 22-17 midway through the first half. Susquehanna closed the half on a 10-3 run, taking a 47-25 lead into the locker room.
Rodner-Tims and
Jaden Hall led King's offensively in the first half, combining for 11 points and five rebounds.
In the second half, Susquehanna extended their lead, outscoring King's 49-35 behind strong perimeter shooting, including 18 three-pointers on 39 attempts. Billy Anderson led the River Hawks with 18 points, while AJ Lomax added 13. The Monarchs stayed competitive with a mid-half run, highlighted by baskets from Rodner-Tims,
Jake Karnish, and
Garrett Burys, which trimmed the deficit to 16 before Susquehanna responded, carrying out a 96-60 victory.
King's shot 36% from the field overall and 23% from three, while finishing with 32 rebounds and 11 assists. The Monarchs struggled to convert off turnovers and in the paint, scoring just five points off turnovers and 20 in the paint, compared to Susquehanna's 22 points off turnovers and 34 in the paint.
Rodner-Tims led King's with 17 points on 7-of-12 shooting, adding six rebounds and one assist. Hall chipped in 12 points and four rebounds, while Burys contributed six points and three rebounds.
The Monarchs look to bounce back tomorrow as they take on Notre Dame University of Maryland in the consolation round of the Susquehanna Tip Off Tournament at 1:00 p.m.
