Box Score SELINSGROVE, PA (November 15, 2025) — The King's College men's basketball team dropped a non-conference matchup on Saturday afternoon, falling to Notre Dame of Maryland University, 97-78, in the consolation round of the Susquehanna Tip Off Tournament. The loss brings the Monarchs to 1-3 overall while the Gators improve to 1-3 on the season.
The Monarchs opened the game strong, racing out to a 13-4 lead behind early finishes from
Ben Rodner-Tims,
Jaden Hall, and
Jake Karnish. King's continued to attack the paint as the advantage grew to 15-6 on a
Ray Gooley layup at the 15:59 mark.
Notre Dame (MD) responded with a surge of its own, using a 13-0 run fueled by high-pressure defense and transition scoring to flip the score to 20-13 with 12 minutes left in the half. The Gators continued their push, extending their lead to as many as 10 before the Monarchs battled back. Big threes from Rodner-Tims and
Ben Malley, along with steady foul-line production, helped trim the deficit to 39-36 heading into halftime.
Rodner-Tims paced King's in the opening stanza with seven points and five rebounds, while Malley scored all seven of his first half points in the final two minutes.
Notre Dame (MD) opened the second half with pressure inside, scoring on multiple second-chance opportunities before pushing the lead to 45-36. Although
Devin Kimmick answered with a three to pull King's back within six, the Gators responded with another wave of scoring, stretching the margin to 52-41.
Despite five second-half threes from Kimmick and a handful of tough finishes from Rodner-Tims, the Monarchs could not slow the Gators' interior attack. Notre Dame (MD) outscored King's 58-42 in the second half to secure the 97-78 final.
Points in the paint played a major role in the outcome, as the Gators held a 50-32 advantage while also converting 18 points off turnovers. King's held an edge in bench scoring (26-25) and second-chance points (12-8), but Notre Dame (MD)'s fast-break production (19-8) and overall efficiency proved decisive.
Rodner-Tims led the Monarchs with a career-high 25 points on 10-of-15 shooting while adding seven rebounds and seven assists. Kimmick knocked down four threes on his way to 12 points, and Malley supplied nine points off the bench. Christian finished with eight points, and Hall added seven points and five rebounds.
The Monarchs are back in action on Wednesday, November 19 as they head to Allentown, PA to take on Muhlenberg College at 7:00 p.m.
